Halibut and Salmon Fishing
The waters that surround this breath-taking country hold some of the best fishing in the world. Prince William Sound Alaska is truly a pristine wilderness, with many species of fish and wildlife to observe. Many of the areas that we fish are protected waters, bays, inlets, and passages. Our lodge location allows us to fish in the protected waters of bays, inlets and passages and we are only 4 miles from the Gulf of Alaska. We do not fish in rough waters.” The name Jumping Salmon Lodge was derived from the thousands of jumping salmon we can see from the deck of our lodge. In the saltwater, we fish for Halibut, all 5 species of Pacific Salmon, Dolly varden, Salmon Shark, many forms of rockfish (red snapper, lingcod) and many other species. We have excellent Silver Salmon runs from late August through November. The fresh water fishing provides some excellent sockeye and silver salmon fishing as well as rainbow trout fishing.
