Nestled
in a remote bay of southwestern Prince William Sound Alaska, Jumping Salmon
Lodge offers a unique and exclusive once in a lifetime experience. We
cater to fisherman, kayakers, wildlife/sea-life enthusiasts, hunters,
as well as families or corporate groups looking for an “off the beaten
path” adventure.
Jumping Salmon Lodge is located approximately 1-½ miles from the native village of Chenega Bay, Alaska. Our remote location allows our clients to render the true experience of Alaska’s last frontier. Jumping Salmon Lodge is proud to be the only full-service lodge in southwestern Prince William Sound. We rarely share our fishing grounds with any other charter vessels. We pride ourselves on being family owned and operated and we work hand in hand with all of our clients to ensure that their personal interests and enjoyments are satisfied.
Our name, Jumping Salmon Lodge, was inspired by the thousands of jumping salmon that migrate to our bay (Sawmill Bay) every season. You too will have the opportunity to witness this amazing phenomenon while relaxing next to the fire on the deck of your personal cabin.
Jumping Salmon Lodge has been featured in Fish Alaska Magazing and on the Outdoor Life Network. In 2003, Larry Csonka showcased Jumping Salmon Lodge on Stihl’s “North to Alaska” outdoor adventure television series. Fishing is our specialty.
Experience
Alaska
We commonly share our fishing grounds with Stellar Sea Lions, Porpoises,
Harbor Seals, Orca (killer) and Humpback whales, as well as various types of
birds including Puffins, Oyster Catchers, Cormorants, and the majestic
Bald Eagle. You might even see an old Black Bear feeding on migrating
salmon from a mountain stream. This fruitful eco-system provides us the
opportunity to fish for Halibut, Dolly Varden, Salmon Shark, many forms
of rock fish including Lingcod and Red Snapper, and all five species of
Pacific Salmon. Fresh shrimp are frequently served with our home cooked
gourmet meals.

Your Trip
Our staff ensures that your trip is custom tailored
to your specific needs and desires. We work closely with you to plan the
logistical and strategic details of your trip. At Jumping Salmon Lodge,
any fishing, hunting, or wildlife viewing idea is possible. If your desire
is to do more wildlife viewing than fishing or visa-versa…we can
make it possible. We can custom modify any excursion to accommodate your
individual needs. We can also just provide lodging, with or without meals.
Some changes may require us to add additional charges to our package price.
In such a case, you will be notified in advance before your trip is finalized.

What We
Provide
Included in our single day trip is a Coast Guard licensed Captain/guide,
all fishing tackle and equipment, bait, fish processing, snacks, and beverages.
Our multi-day packages include the items listed above plus all meals and
lodging, and digital photo service. Our lodge chef has years of culinary
training and experience to provide you with three, Alaskan-style meals
a day specializing in fresh caught seafood entrees ranging from beer battered
halibut to alder smoked sockeye (red) salmon. We also offer our specialty,
“The Lodge Prime Rib”. Our modern, cozy cabins are fully equipped
for a stay of one night or one week. Each cabin is fully furnished and
overlooks Sawmill Bay. Your private deck overlooking the bay is the perfect
setting to re-hash all the fishing stories of the day. Our bathhouse has
private bath/showers and a beautiful cedar sauna for the ultimate relaxation
after a tough day on the water.

Fish and
Game Processing
Jumping Salmon Lodge will clean, process, package, and freeze your fish
at no additional cost up to 50 lb. per client or a 56 quart cooler per
client. Any client wishing to take home more than 50 lbs. or a 56 quart
cooler of fish will be charged $3.00/lb. for additional cleaning and processing
fees. Jumping Salmon Lodge will help make arrangements for clients wishing
to have their catch shipped home.
